At Lxxxdale Community Academy, 52 elementary scholars and their guiding parents face severe daily attendance barriers due to the financial burden of public transit fares. To eliminate this obstacle, we are seeking a bulk order of CTA Ventra bus cards to provide our families with reliable, zero-cost transportation. Meeting this crucial need will immediately remove financial stress, drastically reduce chronic absenteeism, and ensure our young scholars arrive at school safely and ready to thrive every single day.
I am asking for funding for 20 single day passes for caregivers and 82 student passes; the total for all tickets would be $249.32.

A kinship family is in need of a crib, crib mattress, and fitted crib sheet for her 5-month-old paternal great nephew recently placed in her care. The child is currently sleeping in a hand me down Pack N Play that was obtained by another family member. At this time the caregiver does not have the financial means to purchase the bed due to her being on a fixed income. The caregiver also stated that her supports do not have the financial means to help her with this request due to them recently moving into a fixer upper and their funds are currently tied up with the process of fixing up the home. The family had to make several unplanned and very last-minute safety item purchases for the home so that the placement could be made. The paternal great aunt is sharing her room with the child and has limited space in her bedroom. A compact crib would work best in this space. Assistance with providing the child with a crib will ensure that the child is provided with a secured sleeping environment that meets safe sleep standards that can follow the child when reunification with his parents is appropriate.
